What a business visa involves

Real, viable, and good for South Africa.

The Department of Home Affairs must be satisfied that the business is real, viable and good for South Africa. Three things carry the application.

01

Capital contribution

A prescribed amount of capital, certified by a chartered accountant, must form part of the business. Some sectors can apply for a reduction or waiver.

02

A recommendation

The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition assesses the business plan and its benefit to the economy.

03

Undertakings

Registration with the relevant authorities, and an undertaking to employ South African citizens or permanent residents.

Is this you?

A good fit if you

  • Plan to start a business or buy into an existing one
